My Lord, increase me in knowledge.
What this supplication is
The Qur'an's one-word prayer for knowledge — 'My Lord, increase me in knowledge' (20:114) — is recited by students and scholars alike, and is the dua of learning itself. Hunched over notes or before a class, it is the believer's request to be taught.
When to recite it
Before studying, seeking understanding, or in any course of learning.
